Week 9 – Content Creation

Whether it was filming with the smart phone or finding the right copyright free audio to pair with your videos, this week was all about content creation. Content creation is the best inbound marketing practice. When creating content you’re providing free and useful information to your followers. This practice attracts potential customers to your social media pages/ website and helps you to retain existing customers through quality engagement.

Smart phones have become the main use for content creation. In the YouTube playlist from Think Media, they dive straight into how you can create content just by using your smart phone device. They inform people how to put any smartphone on a tripod. how to record your iPhone screen and enable audio microphone, and how to use your smartphone as a web cam for free, and etc. Their short videos over singular topics all relating to the same overall topic of “Smart Phone Content Creator Tips & Tricks”, inspires me to write my style guide like that. I want to format my Digital Style Guide entry with different sections over singular topics that all relate back to my overall assigned topic.

In the article that gives nine tips to becoming the best content creator in your industry, you need to stay current when it comes to content creation. You need to keep content on trend and need to jump on the latest tech to stay ahead of the game and keep your customers/ followers interested. With keeping up and staying in the know with trends, you need to understand and keep in touch with who your audience is. If you were to make a random flyer/ video and it wasn’t addressing the needs/ wants of your target audience then you’re failing. Broad assumptions and careless content creation will lose you followers and existing customers. When it comes to my Digital Style Guide entry, this article says to give your audience examples of what you’re talking about to make things more real and relatable. My topic for my entry is ‘Visuals and Digital Flyers’, with that, it is so important that I not only write about my topic but I also show examples of different visuals and digital flyers. These types of content are meant to be seen, so if I just write about them and not show examples of them then I would be doing them a disservice.
